Feature-Filled DJ & Karaoke Software
Virtual DJ Studio is not like all of the other DJ programs out there. While other programs limit you to two players with a Cross-Fader, Virtual DJ Studio provides you with an entire studio.

Virtual DJ Studio gives you a mixer-board interface. Each line offers things you would expect from a typical mixer — volume fader, mute, crossfader assignment, etc. Additionally, each line contains an MP3/WAV/Karaoke player, with all of the controls you might expect — including a Pitch/Tempo control. If you have two or more sound cards/audio devices, you can route any line to your secondary device, for headphone preview or beat-matching. Alternatively, you might use this feature to simply allow more control with your external mixer.

Full Karaoke Support
The days of hunting down a Karaoke CD, finding the right track, and having only one or two singers queue’d up are gone! With a Laptop, you can replace not only your CD players; you can eliminate the need for cases of CDs, and take up less space than you ever imagined!

Supported Karaoke Formats
You can either play an MP3 that has a corresponding .CDG file, or you can play directly from a ZIP file. VDJ does this directly, with no need to create temporary files (like most other programs do). VDJ is the only Karaoke system that lets you seek while directly playing a ZIP or MP3 file, without ever losing sync!

Singers List
Even though VDJ looks different from other Karaoke programs, it still contains a Singer’s List feature. When enabled, you can queue up any number of songs, along with the name of the person who wishes to sing it. From there, you can drag a song into a line in VDJ, or simply double-click to launch the file in the first line. VDJ will also display a list of singers/songs in the CDG window when no karaoke file is being played (for example, if your CDG window is connected to a second monitor, television, or multiple TVs, your patrons will know who’s up next, and when their song will be up).

Easy to Use
Don’t be intimidated by the number of buttons you see in the picture. If you have a knack for audio equipment, you will quickly pick up on VDJs use. VDJ comes with a complete Help file, including a Getting Started guide that will have you mixing MP3s in no time!

Headphone Support
VDJ allows you to use an extra sound card for CUEing, or Previewing, a sound file. You can use this feature to assist with beat-mixing (fading two songs together on-beat), or for simply previewing a song before playing it live. Many DJs use their laptop’s built-in sound for previewing (since the quality of the internal sound chip is often lacking), and an external USB audio device for their main mix. This configuration allows you the flexibility you are used to with dual CD decks and an external mixer; just like a real mixer, enabling the CUE button routes that line to the headphone output (eg, to your Secondary Sound Card).

Plugin Support
VDJ now offers Plugin support. Third parties can contribute audio processing plugins that can be used within VDJ’s Plugin Manager. VDJ comes with a few Plugins as well, including a Compressor/Limiter, a Low-Pass Filter, and Stereo Expansion.

Mark 73 Electric Piano was sampled from a 1976 Rhodes Mark I Stage Piano. The entire keyboard was wrapped in tinfoil, which virtually eliminated EMI noise. The piano was sampled DI through a Radial Pro 48 DI box, and the signal was routed to a Fender Deluxe Reverb amp, recorded relatively clean through an AEA R84 Ribbon Mic and AEA TRP Preamp. Each note of the 73 note of the Rhodes Piano was sampled 3 times at 10 velocity layers. Releases where sampled for the DI signal as well as the amped signal, but the amp release notes sounded a bit out of place, so the decision was made to only include DI releases. The sound of the amp can be heard in the amp samples, as a Fender Reverb Deluxe is a noisy amp, even without a signal. The DI samples are relatively clean by comparison.

Michaela’s Celtic Harp is a beautifully crafted sample library for Kontakt 4.2 and above. The full version features three microphone positions including direct input recordings, multiple velocity layers, damped and stopped string samples, and variable speed triplets.

Description
Michaela’s Celtic harp was created especially for those who love the delicate yet feisty spirit of Celtic music. If you’re a professional composer or an enthusiastic hobbyist then the Professional edition of this wonderful library is going to be ideal for you. It features three microphone positions – direct input, stereo close, and stereo room – that offer lots of flexibility for mixing and blending the instrument within your template, something that you won’t find in similar libraries.

Articulations
The instrument includes normal plucked samples recorded at three dynamic levels. This is the default articulation and has that quintessential warm, resonant, sound that is unique to the Celtic harp. For occasions when it’s desirable to have a little less resonance we’ve not only provided a release time slider on the interface, we also recorded a separate set of damped string samples. To create these Michaela used her hands to damp the strings around the one being plucked. This provides a rounder sound that tails off a bit more quickly.

Playable stopped strings
Some pieces call for the player to stop one or more sounding strings with their hands. This has a unique sound as the vibrating string is brought to an almost instant stop. Michaela’s harp allows you to perform this technique live using a single key switch that stops any playing notes and triggers individual stopped samples for each one.

Speed controlled triplets
Playing quick groups of three notes is a common occurrence in Celtic harp music and is not easy to simulate with individual plucked samples. The triplet recordings in our library cover the mid-range of the instrument where this technique is most often used. They can be sped up or slowed down using a simple slider on the interface to allow them to fit the tempo of your music.

Lite edition
The Lite edition of this library is great if you’re looking for an instrument with a smaller resource footprint or all you need is one microphone position. It features the same range of articulations and you can upgrade to the Professional edition at any time.

The Progressive EZX features a custom selection of content from The Progressive Foundry SDX for Superior Drummer 2. It comes with three complete kits recorded by engineer/producer Forrester Savell. With credits on defining albums by bands like Karnivool, Dead Letter Circus and I Am Giant, Savell has shaped a few of the most sonically progressive productions in the modern Australian metal and heavy rock scene. The drums were captured at the Sing Sing Recording Studios in Melbourne, Australia. During its more than 35 years in business, the studio has collected a vast selection of top tier microphones and rare outboard gear. Combined with the dense wood-lined walls in its perfectly balanced A-room, Sing Sing has proven time and time again to be the perfect environment for broad, transparent drum recording. The drums, which were sampled by Karnivool’s own Steve Judd, include carefully selected kits from DW, Ludwig and Pearl.

Together with the included presets, the Progressive EZX gives you an unparalleled palette of meticulously recorded, richly textured drum sounds tailored for metal or heavy rock. Start writing!

Massive Unlimited for MASSiVE

Massive unlimited is an ongoing soundlaboratory process with no boundaries. Massive unlimited runs as a one time fee unlimited subscription. You’ll get access to all future sounds that will be added on a somewhat regular basis as time allows. The larger part of Massive unlimited contains soundscapes, sequenced sounds, experiments and the occasional sounds of bread and butter. The sounds are added in smaller clusters using a theme, a character or a specific design technique worth exploring. As more sounds are added the subscription fee rises.

This soundlaboratory process started with the “Ground constellation”, a collection of 50 sounds. New sounds are added in smaller collections called Clusters which usually contains somewhere between 10-20 sounds. (Atm theres been twenty update clusters and the complete collection contains 330 sounds).

– Contains soundscapes, sequenced sounds, experiments and the occasional sounds of bread and butter.

Skyline is an easy to use multi-band image editor for mastering.

You can easily enhance or create depth in a track with the quick and easily accessible controls and you don’t have to worry that you push it too hard since whatever you do with Skyline you can’t break the mono-compatibility. Skyline consists of three main controls, Spread, Pan and Width. ‘Spread’ will either enhance the ambiance by using the information in the difference channel and spread it out in the stereo-field, or use the information from the sum-channel and spread that out in the stereo-field. The latter is great if you want to up-mix a mono-file to stereo. ‘Pan’ will pan the audio in the selected band and ‘Width’ will either boost the sum or the difference by 2dB without touching the other channel. Watch the video, preferable with headphones to get an idea of this little gem.

We updated our multiband stereo image editor Skyline to version 1.5. The biggest difference from earlier versions is the Spread feature which will bring out the depth and 3D feel in any mix.
